Weather Update – 11:00 am

As Storm Brendan continues to impact the county, Kerry County Council is reminding everyone that there is a significant risk of coastal flooding due to the combination of high spring tides and storm surge.

Heavy, possibly thundery and squally rain is also forecast, which may lead to localized flooding on the road network.

Kerry County Council Severe Weather Crisis Management Team continues to monitor the situation. There is risk of winds reaching violent storm force along exposed coastlines during the day. The Council has issued the following advice:

  1. i) The public should avoid exposed coasts and high ground, until the Orange Weather Alert has passed
  2. ii) Motorists should be mindful of falling debris, strong cross winds and the possibility of localised flooding on exposed areas.

iii) Property owners are advised to secure their property (hoardings, signage, bins etc.) to ensure that it does not pose a risk to others.

Kerry County Council crews are on standby to respond to any emergency and the Council can be contacted on 066-7183588 to report any issues

Power outages may be expected and can be reported to ESB Networks at 1850 372 999
